Regan Explodes!
(MAY 28) In a Don Chargin Productions, as a ringman Eric
Regan's overall record reads 53-0. As a kickboxer
Regan rose to 32-0 and gained a world title before shifting
his attention full-time to the 'sweet science' that is
professional boxing. Regan's first defense of his IBA
Continental middleweight title and his twenty first victory as
a professional boxer was, without a doubt his most impressive.
Using his six foot four inch frame to his advantage, Regan
used a variety of hooks and jabs to send the durableNew
Orleans veteran Ron Weaver to the deck three times
before referee John Schorle called a halt at 1:18 of round
number two. Before the bout Eric had asked about a
rating. I told him that an impressive win would
guarantee a rating. Eric Regan will enter the IBA
world middleweight ratings in July. Congratulations Eric!

Pastrana KO'd by scales
January 15, 2004 |
(JAN 15) IBA World Jr.
Bantamweight Champion Mauricio Pastrana scaled 115.5
pounds for his title defense against Evaristo Primero
on January 3 at the Gold Rush Palace near Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma. Following a week of hearings on this matter it
has been determined that the announced weight of 115.5 pounds
by Oklahoma commissioner Steve Bashore shall stand as the
official weight. Due to Pastrana's excessive poundage
the title has been declared vacant. Pastrana becomes the IBA
number one contender for the now vacant title and will be the
mandated contender in any future title action at this weight
or until a loss justifies his removal from the number one
contenders position..
